Welcome to the Tennessee District Tournament!

This page will be kept up to date with the most current information. It will also be sent out in our newsletters. We look forward to seeing you soon as we get ready to send some of the best and the brightest to Des Moines, IA!

DATES:

IE/Public Forum - March 1-2, 2024 - Cookeville High School

LD/BQ/Policy - March 23, 2024 - Bartlett High School

Congressional Debate - April 6, 2024 - Brentwood High School

The qualifier for LD/BQ/Policy can be moved to an online format if 3/4 of participating schools agree to go that route. Because the host schools for IE/Public Forum and Congressional Debate are confirmed, those dates and locations will not change (barring any unforeseen circumstances, inclement weather, etc., etc.).

DO THIS NOW, PLEASE: Check to make sure you have completed the following action items to make sure your school and your students are eligible for the Nat Quals series:

  1. Remember to renew (or to establish) your school's NSDA membership and to clear any debts/fees owed. Should you have questions about how to do this, we can help! Those checks and payments go directly to NSDA.
  2. If you know of a new coach who needs resources regarding NSDA and the National Tournament in general, please email me their contact information. I have done my best to add new advisors/coaches to the distribution list and to remove those who no longer have programs, but I am certain that I have missed a few here and there.
  3. Review the NSDA manual for 2023-2024. There are no major shifts or changes from last school year to this school year. You can use the link below and note considerations in gray (changes within the last two years) and yellow (changes for this year, which largely affect Congressional Debate (recency and direct questioning rules, Senate allotment, student-submitted legislation), Extemp prep allowances, Nationals supplemental event rules, and tweaks for qualifying in partnership events.
